Auburn, Illinois is located in Sangamon County, Illinois. Sangamon County has a population of about 188,000 with the
county seat, Springfield, also housing the state’s capital. The town has a population of roughly 4,300 according to

Auburn is known as the Red Bud City due to a town project started in 1961 that transported trees from southern
Illinois to Auburn. The trees were planted alongside the city streets and have now grown to a glorious size giving
the town a great ‘curb’ appeal. Auburn also has a thriving business and housing climate yet keeps that hometown
charm with various organizations for families and a variety of churches. Auburn is known locally for its school
district and has a high school, junior high, and two elementary schools. Auburn also has a 4 Star golf course,
Edgewood Golf Club, which proclaims to be the best value in central Illinois.
